All of the club’s boxing instructors have the will and capacity to encourage and inspire people to recognise their own potential and share this enthusiasm for helping others. We have been able to bring about substantial, constructive change for people through our continuous effort to give something back to our community. We are proud of adopting a community development approach.
Based on our own experiences and lifelong service over the years, we are dedicated to providing a voice for the voiceless and a beacon of hope.
Based in North Belfast, the Ardoyne Holycross Boxing Club is a vibrant non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the lives of young people. Members of the club have the chance to travel and compete in countries including America, Spain, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, and Ireland. We have produced regional and national champions as well as champions at every level, from boys to senior.
In addition to boxing, the club is essential in helping children with ASD, promoting mental health, and supporting young people who are battling personal issues like drug and alcohol addiction or mental health issues. With invites to competitions in Germany, Romania, Italy, and the yearly boxing classic in Washington, D.C., USA, we have a thrilling year ahead of us. Additionally, we run a Mayo camp that draws people from the United States.
The club’s regular hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6pm to 9pm, with ladies’ box fit sessions on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm. We will also open on Saturdays again for Children with ASD.
As well as a boxing club, we help raise thousands of pounds yearly for the Children’s Hospice. This coming year is going to be an exciting journey, with so many difficult challenges along the way, trying to find funding to keep this club going. We are dedicated to this fight and to the people of Ardoyne and surrounding areas. We will continue our mission to make this happen.
We are proud of what we have achieved for our community and will keep fighting. As the saying goes Quitters don’t Win – Winners don’t Quit. The fight’s not over until the final bell rings!
